Sports Fields and Home Lawns T-10 Bermuda is the new ultra-low maintenance bermuda that a United
States Golf Association (USGA) representative recently termed "the most
under utilized turfgrass in the South." T-10 requires less fertilizer
and water to maintain because of its natural genetic, dark blue-green color.
It has been shown to have more significant winter hardiness when compared to
other bermudas. It establishes rapidly from stolons and performs well in low
maintenance conditions as well as the adverse conditions of extreme drought.
This translates into a big advantage of lower water and mainteance costs. T-10 is an ultra-low maintenance vegetatively propagated bermudagrass. Its foliage is coarser than Tifway and has a naturally attractive blue-green color. T-10 was developed by Dr.'s Glenn Burton and Wayne Hanna at the University of Georgia Coastal Plains Experiment Station in Tifton, Georgia. T-10 is predominantly a horizontal grower, so maintaining turf heights is easier with reduced mowing frequency. Customer experiences show up to 50% reduction in mowing frequency compared to Tifway. T-10 is often maintained at 1 1/4 inches on 7-10 day mowing intervals. T-10 can benefit you wherever a low maintenance, quality performing turfgrass is needed. Examples include: athletic fields, golf course roughs, parks commercial and residential landscapes, highway right of ways, and cemeteries. T-10 had superior winter survial ratings in trials at Kentucky, New Jersey and survived -20˚ F at the Blairsville, Georgia Station. Types of Turf ·
